IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY SCHOOL - SUPPLY LIST 2021-2022
**** PLEASE LABEL ALL CLOTHING WITH STUDENT’S NAME
***Please bring all supplies on the first day of school. Make all checks payable to IHM.
PRE-SCHOOL: First day of school: $125 (for special folder, notebook, Scholastic Magazine and Activity Fee, Party Fee, and $15 for Nap Mat ONLY for new students or if you need another one.
1 ream of 500 pages of copy paper
1 large bottle of hand sanitizer (pump)
1 large box of tissues ** mid- year you may be asked for more
1 large roll of paper towels ** mid-year you may be asked for more
3 large containers of Lysol Disinfectant Wipes **mid-year you may be asked for more
2 pkgs. of Baby wipes
2 boxes of LARGE Crayola crayons (not the JUMBO ones)
1 box of 64 STANDARD size Crayola Crayons
2 boxes WASHABLE markers (preferably large)
1 set of colored pencils
6 LARGE White Elmer’s glue sticks
1 plastic shoe box to keep all supplies (crayons, markers, colored pencils and glue sticks)
1 large shirt with sleeves to cover clothes…to be used as a smock during Art (larger T shirt will be fine)
****Change of clothes (shorts, shirt, socks and underwear) for cubbies, to be placed in a small Ziploc bag with child’s name. (you will be asked to change the clothes when the season changes)
****optional…small blanket and pillow for rest time.

CLASSROOM NEWS
We have now completed all the letters of the alphabet and I have tested the children on the last 8 letters we did. We have also finished with Review and I hope that you have saved all the books that came home during Review days. They will be helpful to read during the summer. I will send home some worksheets for your child to practice over the summer so that they don't forget everything that we learned.
***PLEASE review the names and sounds of the letters we've done so far. (Tt, Ll, Ii, Ff, Ee, Hh, Kk, Vv, Mm, Nn, Ww, Aa, Xx, Yy, Zz, Dd, Pp, Bb, Rr, Jj, Uu, Cc, Oo, Qq, Gg & Ss) Ask your child the name of the letter and to tell you some words that begin with that letter.

***PLEASE keep the REVIEW books as they come home and practice reading with your child.
PRACTICE A, a, I, and, an, see, here, is, the, for, ends, with, this, do, you & have
***PLEASE practice the words I sent home (FLASH CARDS). When we do a Review of the letters, we read a book. Sometimes, there is a new word or words. This new word or words is added to your child's vocabulary. We will build on this as the year goes on. I will eventually teach them how to sound out CVC words. CVC words are short vowel words...for example...cat. You say the sound of c, then the short a sound, and then the sound of t. Put those sounds together and we have the word cat.
Attached is the prayer that the school children say every morning. My PreK children began participating after the new year. The children respond where it says ALL. I am also attaching the song that the children sang when they finished prayers. I will begin teaching the children after a few months of being in school.
